My Golden Threads Art Journal is finished, and it is full. I left room for adding collage while I worked. Then I had no self-control whatsoever and filled every gap. The journal now has what art journalers call a “gator mouth”: it’s so thick with layers that it won’t close flat. I don’t mind. It tells me I had fun.

What you’ll see in this art journal flip through
The video runs 35 minutes because I explain as I go. I show every page and tell you where it came from.
Which pages come from where?
Pages come from three places:
- The Golden Threads class: Here. These are the pages we made step by step in the course.
- Free YouTube videos: all in one playlist here
- Pages I made without filming: the ones I did on quiet evenings and never got in front of a camera.
- Videos in my Inner Studio membership (coming up) here
How did I build the journal?
It has handmade journal with fabric covers and a mix of painted pages, collage, lace, pearls and torn papers and what not. Inside pages from packaging paper, watercolor paper, mixed media paper and more.
Do I have to leave room for collage?
Leave room if you like, but don’t expect to keep it. Mine filled up anyway. A gator mouth is a good sign that the journal got used.
