September was not a month for painting. One morning our apple tree had fallen, and it took the raspberries down with it. Removing the tree and cleaning up the mess took up most of my time, and we decided to turn the disaster into a chance to build new garden beds. The apple tree will get a new home in another spot.

Still, a little art happened. In this month’s episode of A Month in the Making I show you my art journal page with the mixed media painting “Eruption”. In a voice-over I explain step by step what I do and why: the layers, the colours and the decisions along the way.

I also take you along on a visit to the Abbey Library of St. Gall, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world and a great source of inspiration.
