For August’s mood board theme — orange — I worked in one of my handmade art journals, pieced together from leftover gelliprints, blanc paper, and other bits of paper collected along the way.

The starting point was an orange gelliprint I’d nicknamed “surprize.” From there, I grabbed brown sewing-pattern tissue paper and stamped a face from my Pretty Faces collection onto it, choosing a spot so the printed text landed on the body rather than the face.

For the dress, I reached for a thin tissue paper I’d gelliprinted a while back using my stencils, then defined everything with Stabilo Black for outlining and shading. A few strips of washi tape, a printed quote, and one of my collage clusters — added simply as a decorative tab — rounded out the page.
