In this video, I’m taking you into my accordion art journal. It features a dreamy, ocean-inspired spread. This includes a mermaid from my own collage paper collection. 🧜‍♀️

You’ll see how I built the background from a mix of a torn map and a vibrant magazine image. I then added a soft sky with gouache and used my washi stickers from the Mermaid Collection for embellishment. The final touch? A found quote that simply says: “Näher am Meer…” (Closer to the Sea).

It’s a page full of textures, layers, and a bit of storytelling. It is inspired by memory, myth, and the call of the ocean.
