For this month’s Moodboard Challenge, Marie created a gorgeous combination of purple and green tones. I instantly felt inspired to paint a face. I used my favorite materials: gesso, acrylics, Conte crayons, and the deep black lines of my oil-based Nero pencil.

One of the things I love about working in my art journal is the freedom to try new techniques. In this video, I show you how I build up the layers. I even show how I blend the cheeks with my fingers for that extra softness.
