September Moodboard: Making a Dancing Figure in My Art Journal

This month’s art journal moodboard page started in my Dylusions journal with purple paint and a lace-covered roller for texture, then a Hydrangea stencil in white Gesso on top.

From there came a whimsical little dancer — her head cut from a magazine, her body built from gelli plate prints, and her legs simply drawn and coloured in with Posca pens.

pen Dylusions art journal spread with a purple, lace-textured background and white Hydrangea stencil pattern, a whimsical figure with a magazine cutout head and gelli-print paper body, and hand-lettered text about dancing through life, surrounded by Posca pens and acrylic paint tubes.

In this post (and the accompanying video), I’m walking through how the page came together — the textured background, building the figure from collage and cut paper, and finishing with Posca pens. It’s a simple reminder-to-self kind of page, and I hope it gives you a little push to make something playful this month too.
