Adventures in Color — A Flipthrough of My Junk Journal

Welcome, fellow creators!

Today I’m sharing a flipthrough of my Adventures in Color Journal, a trash-to-treasure project built from a repurposed Gudrun Sjödén fashion catalog. These catalogs are printed on matte, recycled paper — a little thicker and sturdier than most — and they make a wonderful base for altering and mixed media play.

Mixed media junk journal flipthrough by Bea Grob, showing layered collage, stamps, and paint on recycled catalog pages.

This journal is filled with a joyful mix of materials:
– pages from magazines and old books
– envelopes, scraps, and found bits
– my own stamps, washi stickers, and collage papers
– watercolor, acrylics, alcohol inks, and more

What began as leftover pieces slowly transformed into a colorful, layered treasure — each page with its own mood, textures, and tiny story.

An open journal page featuring a hand-painted face with expressive features on the left and a colorful, textured page with text on the right, showcasing a creative mixed media design.

You can watch the full flipthrough below.
Happy creating!
Bea
