Golden Thread Art Journal Page – Mixed Media Collage with Dyed Papers, Lace & Metal Foil

Sometimes a page begins with a single quote.
For this Golden Thread Art Journal spread, it was Kurt Tucholsky’s gentle reminder:

“Relax. Let go of the helm. Drift through the world. It is so beautiful.”

Art journal spread featuring a quote by Kurt Tucholsky, layered with hand-dyed papers, vintage lace, a faux Polaroid, a map fragment, and a flower cutout, in a calm, balanced composition.

I used bits and pieces from my stash — hand-dyed papers, fabrics, and vintage lace — combined with elements from my Mix & Match Collection: a faux Polaroid, a map fragment, and a flower cutout from a magazine.
Most layers were glued with a glue stick, but I used Tacky Glue for sturdier papers and Collall fabric glue for the lace. The result is a calm and balanced composition that invites you to slow down and enjoy the creative process.

Every Golden Thread page feels like a conversation between materials, memories, and mood. I’d love to hear how you weave your own stories into your journal.

💛 What’s one material that always finds its way into your creative projects?
