October brings a beautiful transition. In Sweden, where Marie lives, it’s the month when autumn truly begins. However, you can still feel the last breath of summer. For her Design Team project, Marie created a bright and colorful art journal page featuring a wonderful dragonfly. She used acrylic paints diluted with water. This technique gave the lightness of watercolor. She also added playful layers with stencils and stamps.

“October is the month that I personally think autumn begins, at least in Sweden where I live. You still have a feeling of late summer. Therefore, I have created a bright art journal page. It’s decorated with a wonderful and colorful dragonfly. I used acrylic paints. I diluted them with a lot of water. I wanted to get a feeling of lightness, much like with watercolor. I used a new stencil from Bea Grob. It is from the Nature Bits series. I also used the beautiful Dragonfly. It is from the new stamp set Little Stories and the quote ‘Hold on tight to your dreams.’”– DT Marie Linder a.k.a Mixed Creativity by Marie

✨ Why this project feels special
Marie’s page captures the change of seasons beautifully. It features a dragonfly that still belongs to summer, painted in light and vibrant colors. Layered stencil patterns give the page movement and energy. It’s a wonderful reminder to hold on tight to your dreams, no matter the season.
I hope Marie’s project inspires you to grab your paints, papers, and stencils and start playing. Don’t forget to check out the new collection in the shop and leave Marie some love on her YouTube channel.
