Walter’s Enchanted Ocean Card – A Design Team Project with the Mermaid Fairy Collection
I’m thrilled to share this magical underwater creation from Walter, part of my Design Team! Walter uses the Mermaid Fairy digital collage papers. He also incorporates the Ocean Waves stencil. This combination brings together texture, whimsy, and a vintage flair in this layered and expressive card.
“For this card, I used the Mermaid Fairy digital collage papers. I also used the Ocean Waves stencils. These elements helped create a beautiful card with a touch of vintage flair. I also used a stenciled oval, leftover from my Mermaid Fairytale book card, in the design. My inspiration for it was based on the vintage paper sticker sheet and using it as the mermaid tail. The writing on the mermaid tail may also be a mermaid tale! Ephemera elements add a touch of whimsy to the design and there is also lots of texture and dimension.” — Walter

The background is brought to life with dimensional stenciling, echoing the movement of waves. At the center, a shimmering purple-scaled backdrop is displayed. It hosts a fantastical mermaid tail crafted from vintage-style paper. This is truly a clever twist on “mermaid tales.”
Ephemera like sea creatures and bubble-like drops add playful charm. The sentiment “Salty kisses and fairy wishes” completes the storybook feel.
