Happy New Year, creative friends! I’m excited to launch a new Mood Board series. This series is in the Facebook group Bea’s Mixed Media and More. It is created in collaboration with the talented Marie from @mixedcreativitybymarie. Together, we’ll bring you fresh mood boards and videos every month to spark your creativity.
For the first mood board of the year, I created an art journal page inspired by Mood Board No. 1. Here’s how I approached it:
- Palette Selection: Using the Adobe Create app, I generated a color palette that guided my material choices.
- Materials: I chose papers, fabrics, and a piece of corrugated cardboard with the corrugation revealed for added texture.
- Background: I started with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass for a soft, atmospheric base.
- Details: Added collage elements. I applied splatters of diluted gesso. Finally, the quote from the mood board provided a meaningful touch of inspiration.
I did use Adobe Captore an app for tablet. If you are on desktop, use Adobe Color. It is a free online tool that generates a custom color palette for images.
