This Art Journal page is for the Artsy Trio collaboration, and I’m drawing inspiration from Moodboard No. 38 created by Gina. Although I didn’t focus on replicating the subjects from the mood board, I incorporated some of its beautiful colors into my artwork.
I began the process by collaging various papers from my collection, allowing the textures and patterns to guide the flow of the composition. To create the background, I used a mix of teal, green, a hint of purple, and white and black gesso. The combination of these colors set the mood for the piece, reflecting a harmonious blend of depth and contrast.
For the focal image, I chose a part of a napkin featuring a dragonfly, which added a touch of whimsy and elegance to the artwork. To further enhanced the dragonfly I did use one of thos brush pens with shimmer. Finally, I added a personal touch by hand-writing the quote “Create magic” on some cardstock, emphasizing the theme of creativity and wonder.
