Unique Art Journal Creation Process and Techniques

Welcome to our exciting Art Journal collaboration! This month, I teamed up with Lena from Finland to create something truly special. Each of us made a brand-new Art Journal from scratch, then swapped journals to continue our monthly creative journey. In today’s video, we’ll show you the process of how we crafted these unique journals using a variety of materials, including gelli-printed papers, plain papers, laces, fabric, tissue paper, and much more. Watch as we bring our artistic visions to life, blending different textures and techniques to create a personalized masterpiece.

Supplies I have used

  • cardboard from a watercolor block as base for the covers
  • all sort of papers from my stash, like gelliprint, painted papers and more
  • faux washitape (from a colorful painters tape) to enforce the thinner pages
  • for binding I have used a 2 mm ribbon in two colors
  • beads for making dangles
  • all kind of imagery to decorate the journal

To see the full process and how the page came together, be sure to watch the video linked below. Lena and I both document our creative processes, offering insights and tips along the way. It’s a great way to get inspired and perhaps even start your own art journal collaboration!
