For her January 2026 Design Team project, Marie created a calm and quietly magical art journal page in soft, neutral tones. Snowflakes and butterflies share the same space here — an unusual combination at first glance, yet one that works beautifully in the world of art journaling, where imagination leads the way.

Marie chose a limited, muted color palette, focusing on whites, greys, and natural kraft tones. The result feels light, peaceful, and very soothing to look at. Delicate snowflakes float across the page while gentle butterflies seem to have landed for a quiet winter moment.
“In my Art Journal anything can happen — only your imagination sets the limits.”
And this page is a perfect example of that freedom.
Using stencils, stamps, and words from my Mix, Match & Create collection, Marie layered textures and shapes while keeping the composition airy and balanced. The contrast between winter elements and butterflies gives the page a slightly whimsical, “why not?” feeling — a reminder that art journals are a safe space to explore unexpected ideas.

This project is a beautiful invitation to try something different, to mix themes that don’t traditionally belong together, and to enjoy the calming effect of working with a restrained color palette.
