In today’s Golden Thread Journal session, I worked on one of the brown craft paper pages and decided to extend it with an additional flap. I love giving these journals a more layered, tactile personality, and this page was no exception.

The color theme was yellow, which for me represents hope, energy, joy, and a little spark of sunshine — especially on gray days. I gathered a mix of collage pieces: a magazine cut-out of a figure with golden wings, a hardware-store paint chip labeled “Emoji-Gelb,” a scrap from an old book (not sure whether it’s Japanese or Chinese), and some yellow gelliprints.
To bring more texture, I added a lace-and-button tab, acrylic marks, scribbles, and some warm, messy paint layers in the background.

The final touch was a little handwritten note:
Yellow – the color of hope and happiness.
It felt like the perfect way to finish the spread.
