Courage Art Journal Page – Trash to Treasure Journal

This week’s art journal spread in my Trash to Treasure Journal is inspired by the idea that courage isn’t the absence of fear — it’s the willingness to act despite it.

For this piece, I used a page from a fashion catalog as my base, layered with gesso and collage scraps. The quote winds across the page like a path, symbolizing the messy but determined journey forward.

Mixed media art journal page from Bea Grob’s Trash to Treasure Journal featuring a magazine figure with drawn butterfly wings and hand-lettered quote “Courage doesn’t mean you don’t fear; it means you push forward anyway.”

Materials include Gesso, Watercolor Paint, black marker, printed wings, and a figure with Gesso painted around (Negative painting). I love how the bright background and whimsical wings turn a simple catalog page into something personal and powerful.
