This week’s art journal page was inspired by a familiar summer rhythm—morning light, buzzing bees, and blooming flowers. While my garden is full of pink poppies, the red ones simply won’t grow.
But that didn’t stop me from painting one! I used layers of acrylics to bring it to life, and you can watch the full process in today’s video. Scroll down for materials, photos, and videos.
Supplies: – Acrylic paints in different red shades and violet. Include green yellow, Payne’s grey, Titan buff, and Cobalt blue. Use a flat angle brush.

“Do you have a favorite flower that shows up in your art more often than in your garden?”
(I’d love to know which ones inspire you—let’s swap garden stories!)
