For the first Design Team project, Marie brings her unique creativity to the forefront by combining various elements from Bea’s digital kit with her own artistic flair. In her latest Art Journal page, Marie shares how she skillfully layers different papers to build a rich, textured foundation. She seamlessly blends a handwritten-text paper with book paper and even gift wrapping, all while utilizing the Gesso resist technique with Bea’s stencils. The result? A beautifully soft background that perfectly complements her use of acrylics. But now let’s hear what Marie has to say:
I often use pieces of different papers as the first layer on my Art Journal page. In the digital kit from Bea, I found a paper with handwritten text and used it together with some book paper and gift wrapping paper. I did the Gesso resist technique with two of Beas stencils. This technique creates a soft look in the background and looks great with acrylics.
Another of Bea’s papers that I really like is the one with envelopes and letters. I used it as the background for my Focal Point, the red Poppies. Some finishing touches with different pens and pencils. This project gave me “Happiness and Joy”, and I found the perfect words in another paper from the digital kit.
