Welcome to my art blog . In this short video, I’ll show you how to paint your own version of beautiful rainbow fish using watercolours and then add intricate detail with coloured pencils. It is a purely fantasy fish, just how I felt I want him to look like. Enjoy!

Supplies I have used are Daniel Smith watercolors and Prismacolor Pencils. For sketching I have used a standard graphite pencil.
You can use any decent brand of watercolors and/or colored pencils to paint your own version.
Colorwise I have use a New Gamboge Yellow, Ultramarine Blue and Phtalo BluePyrol Scarlet and Quinacridone Purple. I haven’t use any green, just the mixing from the yellow and blue gives you a green.
I have used a 300 gsm watercolor paper, this happens to be my last piece from Strathmore. In the future I have to use the Fabriano, as I get no longer my hands on the Strathmore. Again use what you have.
